Fun Fact 1 William Henry Cosby Jr. was born on July 12th, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. He is called Bill for short.

Fun Fact 2 Bill Cosby married Camille Hanks on January 25th, 1964; they are still married to the present day.

Fun Fact 3: Bill Cosby and his wife Camille have five children together, four daughters called Erika, Ensa, Erinn and Evin and a son called Ennis.

Fun Fact 4: In Bill Cosby is a famous American actor, singer, stand-up comedian, author and activist.

Fun Fact 5: Bill Cosby attended Mary Channing Wister Public School where he was described as the class clown.  He was also very academic and had a huge love for sports. He was the baseball, and track and field captain, as well as class president at the school.

Fun Fact 6: Bill Cosby's mother was called Anna and she was a maid. His father, William Henry Cosby Sr, was a cook in the US Navy. His father was away throughout most of Bill's childhood so he had a shoe shining job to help raise money for the family.

Fun Fact 7: Bill Cosby dropped out of education and joined the U.S. Navy for four years. He worked in the Hospital Corps.

Fun Fact 8: Fame came when Bill Cosby made his first acting debut. He starred on the I Spy television series which ran for approximately three years. He was the first black actor to be cast for a network television series.

Fun Fact 9: The well known television show called 'The Cosby Show' came next for Bill. It was first aired in 1984 and ran until 1992. The Cosby Show was voted one the highest rated sitcoms for five years running!

Fun Fact 10: Bill Cosby was also musically talented. He had a passion for singing and released many songs such as 'Li'l Ole Man' and albums such as 'Silver Throat'. He received six Grammy Awards for his music.

Fun Fact 11: Bill Cosby worked on educational programs for children through which he relating back to his own childhood experiences. Some of the programs he worked on included The Electric Company, Fat Albert and Cosby Kids which was an animated series made by Bill.

Fun Fact 12: Bill Cosby was an excellent stand-up comedian and actor. He's really famous on the big screen and had a number of box office hits. He had roles in Uptown Saturday Night in 1974, Lets Do It Again in 1975 and A Piece of the Action in 1977.

Fun Fact 13: In Bill Cosby recognized his ability to make people laugh when he took on a job as a bartender in Philadelphia. He later took to the stage in various clubs in Philadelphia and New York City before branching out to other cities.

Fun Fact 14: Bill Cosby achieved a Doctor of Education degree in 1976 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Fun Fact 15: In January 1997, a terrible tragedy occurred when Bill and Camille's son Ennis was murdered on the Interstate 405 in Los Angeles whilst he was changing a flat tyre.
