Fun Fact 1: The name Connecticut is believed to have originated from the Indian name "Quinnehtukqut" which translates as "place beside the long tidal river"

Fun Fact 2: The state flag of can be described as; a white shield that depicts three grapevines each one bearing three bunches of purple grapes. Below the shield is a yellow edged white ribbon with the state motto "He who Transplanted Sustains Us" upon it. The motto and the grapevines represent the first settlement of English people in the 1630's, who where 'transplanted' like a grapevine from Massachusetts to Connecticut

Fun Fact 14: One of the oldest newspapers in America that continues to publish today is the Hartford Courant, it was established in 1764
