Fun Fact 2 Jimi Hendrix was born into a dysfunctional environment. His
parents were very poor and they divorced when Jimi was nine years old.
Fun Fact 3: Jimi Hendrix learned to play the guitar himself. He was
inspired by Elvis Presley and he taught himself to play tunes by Elvis.
The guitar was a ukulele which was given to him by a lady who had
planned on throwing it away.

Cox who he met in 1961. The R&B duo actually met in the army where they

a band with Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell in 1966 at London's town of
Westminster. Together, the English-American band formed the Jimi Hendrix

1969. During this time, the band released three successful albums called
Are You Experienced, Axis: Bold As Love and Electric Ladyland.
Fun Fact 9: The Jimi Hendrix Experience reformed in 1970. Billy Cox
joined the band and played the bass. The band continued until September
of the same year whenJimi sadly passed away.
Fun Fact 10: The Jimi Hendrix Experience was inducted into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.
Fun Fact 11: Jimi Hendrix died at a young age, he was just 27 years old
when he passed away. It's thought that he died from a drug overdose.
During his life, he had often fallen victim to alcohol and drugs.

his talents. The type of music he played and sang was mainly heavy rock.
He played lots of different types of guitar but one of his favorites was
the Fender Stratocaster which is a model of electric guitar.

was called 'Are You Experienced'. Some of the songs on the album
included Foxy Lady, Manic Depression, Red House, Can You See Me, and
Love or Confusion.
Fun Fact 14: Jimi Hendrix achieved a UK number 1 hit single in 1970 with
his song 'Voodoo Chile'. He was very successful in United Kingdom where
he spent much of his musical career.
Fun Fact 15: Jimi Hendrix achieved awards during his short lifetime and
has also been credited for his achievements since his death. In 2007, he
was awarded the Music City Walk of Fame.
