Fun Fact 4: Diana Ross' parents were named Ernestine and Fred. Her
mother was a school teacher and her father was a former Army soldier.
Diana was raised in Detroit and one of her neighbor's was fellow
American singer song writer Smokey Robinson.
Fun Fact 5: The Primettes were a sister group which Diana joined at the
age of 15. The other members of the group at the time were called Mary
Wilson, Florence Ballard and Betty McGlown. They auditioned to Motown
Records with their song 'There Goes My Baby'. Gordy was reluctant to
sign the group as they had yet graduated. However, he agreed to do so as
long as they agreed to change the band's name to 'Supremes'.
