which was edited by the committee. 75% of the text remained unedited
this means that Thomas Jefferson was the main author of the Declaration
of Independence

Fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence and later went on to
become President
Fun Fact 8: He was responsible for overseeing the Louisiana Territory
purchase from France in 1803. This more than doubled the land area of

named Monticello. It was built in Charlottesville, Virginia

shaking hands to greet his guests rather than bowing

dollar bill since 1862
Fun Fact 12: He Married Martha Wayles Skelton in 1772. They had six
children but only two survived to adulthood. Martha died after eleven
years of marriage but Jefferson never remarried
Fun Fact 13: A sculpture of Thomas Jefferson's head, measuring 60-foot
high (18 m) is carved into the granite of Mount Rushmore, South Dakota
Fun Fact 14: The University of Virginia was founded by Thomas Jefferson
in 1819; he considered it be one of his greatest achievements. The
University was unique in many ways including the subjects that were
taught and the way the students could select them
Fun Fact 15: He died on the same day and within a few hours of John
Adams on the 4th July, 1826. He died in Monticello, Virginia |
