Fun Fact 1

The name Nebraska was derived from the Native American naming of the Platte River, the name means "broad river"

Fun Fact 2

The state flag is a field of blue which centrally displays the state seal. The state seal displays a regional landscape it includes; mountains, a steam train, the Missouri River and steamboat, a settler’s cabin, sheaves corn - representing history and agriculture. In the foreground is a blacksmith using a hammer and anvil - representing mechanic arts and industry, the motto "Equality Before The Law" lies at the top of the scenic image. The outer circle of the seal contains the words "Great Seal of the State of Nebraska, March 1st, 1867" - the date is in reference to when the state joined the union

The Capital city of Nebraska is Lincoln. The largest city is Omaha

The area of the State covers 200,520 square kilometers or 77,354 square miles

The beef industry is significantly considered important to the local economy, between the years 1956-1965 the industry was celebrated when the Nebraska automobile license plate carried the unofficial motto - The Beef State
